Niki's 3 Easy Cocktails You Can try At Home This Summer
Hey guys, with summer approaching quickly, I thought I'd let you know about some easy to make cocktails I've come across so far. What some people consider easy may be a little different but I've tried to only include one's that include minimal ingredients and require easy measurements like shot glasses and less precision measuring. With that all said and done, lets get started! (Remember to drink responsibly folks!)
1. The Lone Wanderer
2. The Southpaw
1. The Lone Wanderer
- Combine the following:
- 60 mls of whiskey(spiced rum works too depending on preference) 60 mls is a double shot or if you're using a red solo cup, up to the first line of the cup
- Raspberries or blackberries (2 per drink) and mash them as small as possible
- Fill the remainder of the cup with any cola drink of preference
- This drink is somewhat strong as the whiskey can be a rather powerful taste. If it is too strong of a taste, feel free to re-adjust the amount of whiskey included. If whiskey or rum really isn't for you, you can replace it with vodka of 60mls or less, depending on your preference.
- Combine the following:
- 60mls of rum
- 30 mls of vodka
- fill the remainder of the cup with orange juice
- Add a pinch of sugar
- This drink is very strong as there due to the types of spirits included, if it is too much for you, feel free to reduce the amount of both spirits.
3. The British Specialty
- Combine the following:
- 30 mls of gin
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- Add the juice of 1 lemon wedge
- A small pinch of nutmeg (the toxic dose of nutmeg is 2 - 3 teaspoons so as long as you add less than that, you'll be fine)
- This drink isn't too strong as it has a smaller amount of alcohol as the others and because gin doesn't have as strong a taste as whiskey, rum or vodka. It is inspired by a recipe you can find in the video game, Dishonoured - a game set in a fictional city based on Victorian era London and since the drink isn't given a name, I thought I might give it a name that make sense and references its origin.
These are just some cocktail recipes you may want to try over the summer (remember to drink responsibly). If you have any suggestions to add, please let me know in the comments section below.
