Nikki's Top 5 Wedding Makeup Picks

Hello beautiful people and welcome back to Nikki’s Top 5 in beauty. I hope you have all had a great week, for me it has been hectic. It was my beautiful older sister’s wedding on the weekend and let me just say although it was an amazing day, weddings are STRESSFUL.

The beautiful makeup artist who did my sister’s makeup for the big day as well as mine and all the bridesmaids is a close family friend of ours and is extremely talented in the field of makeup. I love getting my makeup done for special occasions because I feel like a princess and enjoy discovering new products. For today’s blog post, I decided to talk about my top 5 favourite products the makeup artist used on me for my sister’s big day.

Charlotte’s Magic Cream Treat & Transform Moisturiser - $125 AUD

I love, love, love Charlotte Tilbury Makeup however, had never tried their skin care as it is extremely pricey and I already have too many drugstore moisturizers I love. However, for a special event this is the perfect choice. It's so luxurious, smells wonderful (like roses), and although rich it doesn’t feel too heavy. It sinks into the skin quickly leaving it luscious and soft. If you are looking to indulge this is a must try product.

MAC Studio Face and Body Foundation - $50 AUD

I have never given MAC foundations a fair go. I feel they have a negative stigma around them for being cakey and a cause of breakouts. However, when getting my makeup done the makeup artist mixed the MAC Studio Face and Body foundation with a little bit of MAC Studio Fix foundation in areas I needed a little more coverage. I must say I loved it! Not only did my skin look flawless but it stayed on all day, did not become caked around my laugh lines or nose and looked stunning in photos. I definitely should have tried this foundation sooner.

MAC Soft and Gentle Highlighter - $48 AUD

This highlighter is an oldie but a goodie. This was one of the first highlighters I bought, I saved up for ages for it and then it ended up in the back of my makeup collection. However, when the makeup artist used this on me on the weekend I quickly fell back in love and it has found a new home in my everyday makeup drawer. It simply provides the most beautiful glow to the skin that is not too intense but is just right and perfect for photos and everyday wear.

Tom Ford Eye Color Quad - $135 AUD

Again, Tom Ford is an extremely luxurious brand that I personally only have one product from in my collection. However, their makeup is beautiful and especially good for special events such as a wedding day. The makeup artist used shades from both the Honeymoon and Nude Dip quads and I loved the subtle, simple, but still eye catching look she created. These shadows where comfortable on the eye, pigmented and extremely long wearing.

Tom Ford Ultra Rich Lip Colour & Matte Lip colour - $78 AUD

I wore the matte lip colour in “Revolve Around” and the ultra-rich lip colour in “Pussycat” mixed together to make the most beautiful and wearable nudie- pink lip. These lipsticks are extremely comfortable on the lips, did not settle into fine lip lines and lasted a reasonable amount of time (for a lipstick). I have since gone and purchased these two lip colours to add to my ever-growing collection.
