TRUE OR FALSE- Fitness secrets revealed
Hey guys, its that time of the week again where were ready to start fresh and get exercising.
There a lot of crap out there telling us what we can and can't do in terms of fitness, it can be confusing leaving us not knowing what to do. SO I decided it would be good to clear some of that up for you guys today :)
1. Carbs are the necessary evil...................................................................................SO NOT TRUE
Magazines and internet articles seem to consistently tell us carbs are fat and a low carb everything is better. However this is NOT true. Carbohydrates give our bodies energy to think, move, work, exercise and do everything in between. If your not getting any carbs into your system, your going to be fuzzy in the bran, lethargic, fatigued and be overall not as energetic as you could be in your day to day life. On a consistent low carb low calorie diet, our body start to catabolise meaning it starts to eat away at the muscle we have, as well as the fat. Now when you finally hit your goal weight, you want to look toned, tight and fit....well with this kind of diet , all that 'toned' muscles will go and youll be skin and bones.
The key--> Good healthy long lasting carbs within proportion to your daily activity is the key to enjoying carbs, having energy for your body, being healthy and loosing weight! FYI, you need carbs to tone your muscles. MORE muscle = better metabolism
2. Weights make you bulky!.......................................................................................SO NOT TRUE
Now ladies, don't be fooled by putting together that since men lift weights and get bulky..we will too... Because we won't. Our hormones differ from mens hormones ALOT. Testosterone allows them to build muscle quickly and greatly. We simply don't have enough testosterone in our bodies to do that. We will tone up and look fitter , yes even lifting heavier weights. You'll be surprised with the results you get lifting weights. OH and I forgot to mention, The more muscle a woman has, the faster she looses weight and the more she can eat. Lets take me for example, Ive been lifting heavy weights for 7 years, If you were to look at me walking down the street you wouldn't stop and say WOW she looks so muscly almost like a man. :P
3.CARDIO is the best way to loose fat......................................................................SO NOT TRUE
Too much cardio will strip your body of muscle and fat! This cannot be and is not the best way , the most efficient way to loose body fat. Once you start stripping muscle mass, your body becomes less efficient at burning body fat. Integrate weights and some cardio proportionate to you fitness goals . Combined will do the trick and burn fat!
